2016 Pontiac Firebird Trans AM
Price, Release Date… – The 2016 Pontiac Firebird Trans AM is one of the few cars which managed to impress the customers and make them want more. However, Pontiac went through financial struggle and they had to pull the car of the market in the early 2000s.
Since then, the Pontiac brand was discontinued by GM due to their low amount of sales, meaning that was the end of the Firebird. Or was it? Lucky for us, the car started to be available with 2013 and since then, a small company in the US managed to get quite a nice conversion of the Camaro to the Pontiac Firebird Trans AM 2016.

2016 Pontiac Firebird Trans AM – Release Date and Price
However, people started to want more so they had to engineer a true follow up to the original. Thanks to this, they took a standard Camaro, stripped everything from it and started from there. The end result is an original model which has more in common with the original rather than a new Camaro and this can only make us happy. The 2016 Pontiac Firebird Trans AM release date has been set in the mid of 2016 or early 2017, meaning that it will come just in time to compete with the new generation Camaro.
However, we do know for a fact that this small company won’t be able to keep the same pace of constructing cars as the bigger manufacturers out there, which would also mean that the car will be quite a select model. The price for it hasn’t been announced just yet but considering it is a fully built car, we expect it to cost at least 55,000 dollars, price at which it will have to compete with much faster cars than it.
Interior and Exterior of 2016 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am
On the interior the 2016 Pontiac Firebird Trans AM is going to take a lot of inspiration from the original. This means that the seats and the general look of the interior are going to have a classic look to them. Leather is going to be a standard feature and so it is going to be the aluminum or wooden inserts. Carbon fiber might be available on a sports model, but this hasn’t been made official just yet. The best part about it though is going to be the mixing of old and new design, with a classic instrument cluster but with a 10 to 12 inch touch screen which is going to control functions such as the air conditioning or even the soft top, on the convertible model.
The exterior of the new Pontiac Firebird Trans AM 2016 on the other hand will not be as exquisite as we would like. While it will look a lot like the original with the individual headlights and the hidden tail lights, the car will resemble a Camaro with its shape. We just hope that in the near future this will be gone and replaced with a completely new body.

Engine of 2016 Pontiac Firebird Trans AM
So, we can say about the 2016 Pontiac Firebird Trans AM release date that the car will only be available with 2 engines immediately after its launch, with a few possible more after its launch. The base engine is expected to be a 3.6 liter supercharged V6, derived from the Camaro V6. This will make around 400 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque and it should be good to get the car to 60 MPH in under 4.5 seconds with a maximum top speed of over 170 MPH. The other choice is likely to be a 2 liter turbocharged inline 4 with 300 horsepower that will replace the old aspirated V6. This will offer better performance with a lower fuel consumption.

Both engines are going to come with a 6 speed manual gearbox and rear wheel drive which should be the perfect choice for a driver’s car as well as for people who just want to enjoy driving a manual.
